Trical has unveiled Ezywire PLUS, a next-generation distribution and meter board system developed and manufactured in New Zealand. The boards have been designed for residential projects where speed, accuracy and presentation all matter.

For decades, the basic format of indoor boards has remained unchanged. Ezywire PLUS represents a shift — taking on direct feedback from electricians to create a system that not only installs more quickly but also meets the expectations of today’s homeowners for a tidy, modern finish.

One of the most practical upgrades is the introduction of Ezy-Hang hooks, allowing hands-free mounting during installation. This is paired with Ezy-Line alignment for precise breaker positioning, helping to cut down on installation time. Hidden reversible hinges give flexibility in door orientation, while a low-profile frame has been designed to accommodate smart meters without compromising on space.

Other refinements include improved cable entries, stronger DIN rails and the ability to mount meters at either the top or bottom of the board. Together, these features are aimed at reducing site time, improving safety and ensuring consistent results across projects.

The system will eventually replace the existing Ezywire range, creating a more streamlined offering for the residential market. Trical says the move is about futureproofing, providing electricians with a board that adapts easily to new requirements such as smart metering and integrated data solutions.

The unified design approach also ensures compatibility with the Ezydata PLUS range, giving projects a consistent look across electrical and data installations.

Ezywire PLUS is available now through electrical distributors nationwide, supported with installation guides and technical resources to help contractors get up to speed quickly.
