Electrical faults and confined spaces are among the hardest fire risks to manage. Traditional extinguishers are bulky, require manual operation, and often leave behind damaging residue. TransNet is now distributing the MAUS Fire Stixx PRO, a compact and automatic fire suppression unit originally developed for space applications, offering a smarter way to safeguard switchboards, enclosures, and equipment.

The Stixx PRO is activated when temperatures reach 170°C, releasing a potassium-based aerosol that interrupts the combustion process at the chemical level. By neutralising hydrogen, oxygen and hydroxide in the flame, it prevents spread and reduces the chance of re-ignition. The aerosol remains suspended longer than traditional agents, providing up to ten times the extinguishing power of Halon or CO₂.

One of the defining advantages of the Stixx PRO is its size. At less than the length of a marker pen, it can be fitted discreetly into tight spaces such as residential switchboards, industrial cabinets, battery compartments, and motorhomes. Installation is straightforward: simply peel the adhesive backing and press the unit into place. With no wiring, power source or maintenance required, it is an easy add-on for electricians, specifiers, and building managers looking to boost fire protection.

The unit is certified to EU standards for pyrotechnic fire suppression devices. Its potassium compound is non-toxic, environmentally friendly and residue-free, meaning there is no clean-up required and no risk to sensitive electronics. That makes it especially suitable for commercial and industrial applications where downtime and equipment damage must be avoided.

Globally, the MAUS Fire Stixx PRO has already earned a reputation for reliability. It is used by organisations such as Amazon, Pfizer and the Swedish Police, and was recognised with the Best Electricity News award at Elmäsan Stockholm in 2021.

With electrical installations becoming increasingly complex, compact suppression systems like the Stixx PRO provide an added layer of protection without the drawbacks of traditional extinguishers. TransNet says the technology is designed to give peace of mind by neutralising fires before they spread—protecting property, equipment and lives.
